The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India has (27 Feb 2014) announced the Corporate Social Responsibility (Policy) Rules 2014 under the Section 135 of the new Companies Act 2013. – Under the new Companies Act, mid and large companies have to spend 2% of their three-year annual average net profit on CSR activities.
In todays’ generation, real Indian Art and Culture are slowly consumed by western influence. While the West supports its own culture, the Indian youth are diverted to follow the West. There is very limited support and help when it comes to the preservation of Indian art and culture and awareness of various cultural forms.
Kala Pradarshini, with your help, you give back to the society with the aim of preserving various Indian National Heritage, culture, art forms, uplifting the downtrodden and help uplift them through the arts and provide a sustenance.
Parvathi, has provided opportunities to many underprivileged children to learn Bharatanatyam and allied arts under her wings. She also trains and coaches students from the local corporation schools to shape these students into able artists. In an effort to create opportunities for these budding dancers, she provides these children opportunities to perform on stage. She believes this is her first step towards social & economic empowerment of the underprivileged, irrespective of religion, caste and creed.
Our campaign “Say No to Plastic” will be launched during the Ghantasala 96 anniversary in Oct 2018. This will be an effort to convert our audience into goodwill ambassadors, who will carry the message through 960 eco-friendly bags, that will be distributed among the audience, well-wishers and sponsors.
Kala Pradarshini has distributed 2000 indigenous saplings, in a small effort to mitigate global warming. Since 2018 this is being done on the occasion of the Ghantasala Samarpanam celebrations.
Kala Pradarshini is a registered Not for Profit Trust, comprising of Trustees and run with dedicated volunteers, headed by the Managing Trustee. As Kala Pradarshini receives grants from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for various productions and festivals it conducts, we are required and mandated to maintain proper books of accounts and audited by a Chartered Accountant.
