One of the most awaited performing art festivals of Chennai, India, every year since 1998, curated by Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala.
Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala’s Kala Pradarshini, has been promoting, propagating and preserving the traditional classical art forms of India since 1998. With the belief that Art is for Arts Sake and that it is a medium that is devoid of any social, cultural, economic boundaries, the organization through its carefully curated Music and Dance festival has opened out opportunities for artistes to perform. Over 10,000 performing artists and innumerable supporting artists, technicians and staff members have benefited from these art festivals. As a result of its consistent efforts to showcase talents, Kala Pradarshini has been the recipient of many cultural grants commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, the ICCR, South Zone Culture and other regionally based organizations as well.
Kala Pradarshini has established a robust local and global connect with performing artists across disciplines. Kala Pradarshini has had the proud privilege of having formed the initial stepping stones through it’s Music and Dance Festival for some of the popular names in the performing arts fraternity. Whilst the primary focus of the festival has been to showcase talented and upcoming artistes, it has also attracted various well-established performers of the arts. Besides Bharathanatyam eminent exponents in Odissi, Sattriya, Kathak, Mohini Attam, Chau, Kuchipudi as well as several prominent musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists) have performed in our Music and Dance festivals.
